The Tool-less Blade Guide retrofit makes this saw virtually identical to more recent models. The saw was new in 2013.

I have used this saw mostly for resawing. In combination with the Highland Woodworking "Wood Slicer"  1/2" and 3/4" blades (included) it has always done a great job.
