Hard Maple is hard to come by here, last time I was there Crosscut Hardwoods had some skip planed western maple for decent prices but it'll require some cleaning up. I picked up a load of European beech from them to build my second bench recently, I had to buy wider boards than I wanted but the guild discount made up for that. 

If you want lots of material with minimal prep work, Hardwood Industries was the best local bulk supplier I found.
