Hi friends,
I recently purchased a used Rikon 10-325 bandsaw. It needed a serious cleaning and a fresh lube as it was used to cut aluminum in a previous life and there were metal shavings everywhere.
I figured I would start at the top and work my way down. I disassembled the entire upper wheel assembly (blade off, wheel off, bearings out, blade tension and tracking mechanisms apart), the upper blade guide (all parts removed from one another), and the guide post (including the gears removed, cleaned and lubed). Pretty much anything that could come apart was taken apart.
What I did NOT do is take pictures or a video of the disassembly process. That turned out to be a bad decision. Most of the parts are easy to re-assemble because they are unique and/or it's obvious where they go or how they work. Many of the remaining parts could be reverse engineered using the very grainy low-resolution Rikon parts diagrams. Many...but not all.
I'm left with 5 pieces that I'm unclear about. My question to this awesome group is this: Does anyone have a Rikon 10-325 that I could take a look at and/or see pictures of?
I've attached a picture of the 5 runts of the litter - boy would I love to figure out where they go. The black part next to the two washers is metal, and looks very similar to two other parts that went on the upper blade guide but I don't see how a third might be utilized. The o-ring in the lower right is rubber.
I'm also going to send a similar message to Rikon Technical Support as they've been great up until this point. Thank you in advance if you can get me closer to having a complete saw!
