The 16/32 drum sander has been sold over the years under Jet, Performax, and now Laguna names. Newer 16/32s comes with a DRO (Digital Readout) that slides in under the speed dial and connects to a USB cable. The DRO is powered by 2 button batteries. I replaced the batteries and when plugging the DRO back in, the female connection inside the DRO broke. It was only connected to the circuit board with a drop of solder and the pressure broke it. Long story short, the Laguna tech, contacted me and said that DRO is no longer available as this was a common problem. They replace them now with the Wixey WR510 Electronic Digital Readout and for $125, will send me one. Available on Amazon above for $63.
If you have one and need to replace the batteries, be very aware when plugging the cable back in.
Note that the 19/38 larger drum sander, like what we have in the shop does not have a DRO although the Wixey add-on would work. In reality, I rarely use it but it is sometimes useful when needing to take very light passes (which should be your standard operating procedure)
