Class Goals: In this class we will adapt a classic Frank Lloyd Wright table design to solid wood construction. By the end of the class you will have a complete heirloom quality table. This is 4 session class.
Class Description: The architect Frank Lloyd Wright was well knows for not only his building designs, but also the furniture in them. These pieces were often built on site by the carpenters and from the same building materials as the buildings themselves. This table, originally made from plywood, is a good example of his bold geometric shapes and clean lines.
In this class we will adapt the design to solid wood construction, using floating tenon, Domino and pocket screw construction to allow for wood movement. We will use solid Mahogany throughout.
