Hand Tool Special Interest Group
Presenter: Ken Hall
Requirements: Intro to the Guild.
Topic for August 24, 2023: Flattening a board with a bench plane and winding sticks. Bring you own plane (or use one from the Studio) and use winding sticks to check for flatness of a rough and twisted board as you plane out the high spots. This is the first skill you need to develop to use hand planes to 4-square a board for use. I will also have a shooting plane and shooting board to demonstrate one way to get 90 degree edges on your stock.
This SIG is for anyone interested in hand tools no matter your skill or knowledge level. Come and learn or share your knowledge with other Guild members.
