I am posting this on behalf of the estate of one of the best fine art carvers in Oregon's history, Dennis Mihm, who died three years ago. I am helping his widow (Dewilde Mihm) sell a few remaining things. Think of this as a lighter weight Foredom, a power carving tool with a flexible shaft.
Dennis had a Foredom, which I bought from him five years ago when he was downsizing. Dewilde remembers bidding on this at silent auction and winning but not needing it, so it sat.
It is in the box, comes with the motor and shaft, variable speed foot pedal, and a chucked hand piece (model 26514) for up to 5/32" burrs. I'm guessing the unit is 10-15 years old. Woodcraft still sells this brand, as does Amazon and Walmart.
Contemporary Wecheer kits sell new for about $175. You can also buy the Harbor Freight knockoffs for $50. I priced this on the low side at $75 because it is 1/4 hp (not 1/3), is not reversible (important for lefties), and you might want to invest in a second hand piece that supports 1/4" burrs. If money is no object, buy a Foredom for $250-300. For the rest of us, or for experimenting, this should be a decent alternative to the Harbor Freight unit. I have no experience with it and have done limited research.
I'm just the middleman and have no financial stake in the sale. Checks will be made to Dewilde Mihm, and cash payments will be forwarded to her.
Call, text, or email me.
