This tree (Cladrastis kentukea) is native to the mid-west & Kentucky. https://www.uky.edu/hort/Yellowwood. It is regarded as a good tree for woodworking.
Some logs are 8+ inches in diam, most at least 4 inches in diameter. They're all in my back yard. The 4 ft tall trunk I'm keeping to grow out some suckers. Folks can message me, Pam Bolton at my email is rudywoofs@yahoo.com (and I'm in Forest Grove)
