A request arrived from a father to build two flag cases for his son, serving in Iraq. Fortunately these were ceremonial flags. One had flown over the post where he was stationed and was presented to Ross by his men, for his excellent leadership in combat situations.
Guild members Norm Michaud and Bob Vaughn met at Bob Oswald's shop over the course of three meetings, and built the cases. It became a great friendship time, and a time to learn about high angle miters. We each made an extra for ourselves, to donate to some future organization.
Delivery of the cases to Ross' father brought tears to his eyes, and to mine. It was a patriotic and emotional moment.
